I've had a few things happen, can't say I'm completely sold on the idea of it all one thing some people have told me is kids see things.

Talking to my mom tonight she's told me about a gal she works with and what's happened with her now 2 1/2 year old. They bought a new to them house last year, it's a older place. The kid was about a year younger or so. There is a play room in the basement, and about a week after they moved in she put the kid down there with some toys to play with. The husband was at work, she ran upstairs for a couple minutes and came back down to check on the kid and the words LEAVE NOW were written on the wall with chalk. I guess the kid was sitting up giggling like he was looking at somebody.

Fast forward to last week, I guess they've been re painting their living room so it's empty. She decided to get a soccer ball and roll it around the floor with the kid. Now that he's older he's getting some vocabulary and able to talk. A few minutes in he stone cold stopped, looked at his mom did the shhhhh on his lips and said mommy the ghosts are coming back.

I guess she lost her stuff, after that and I probably would have as well. Another story I have involves a buddy of mines kid as well. So any of you have any story's? Do you think kids actually are able to see things? I find it hard to believe a two and a half year old would just come up with this stuff without any knowledge of ghosts ect

Balderdash!

I think a lot of people just enjoy scarin' the bejeez out of themselves. Hence, the popularity of horror movies, or horror books, which I neither watch nor read.

Or, scary dreams. Why in the heck do we humans do that? But, those are dreams. Not reality.

I don't doubt the sincerity of people who experience, or see, ghosts. But I also believe they are just figments of their imagination.

Sixty-nine years old, and I have never seen or experienced a ghost. If I come across one before I punch out I will change my view, but, based on my experience to date, I think it mighty unlikely.

Many years ago when I was a lot younger there was a popular and thriving spiritualist camp a few miles from where I lived. It was owned by the family of one of my friends at work. His last name was not a common one and people would often make the connection to the camp when they heard his name. He was always embarrassed when that happened. He said his family routinely hold seances pretending to connect grieving people with their departed loved ones. He said they were scamming old ladies out of their savings and he was ashamed of them and wanted nothing to do with the camp.

I had a few experiences in a particular house that I can't explain that happened in my mid 50s.Before that I didn't believe in any of that stuff
I know of two people that had odd experiences there too. One is unaware of the others run ins and neither of them knows about mine.
One knows who the "ghost " is. ;-)
One person who had several run ins and finally refused to enter the place again had described what he was "seeing". That turned out to be a very accurate description of a prior owner who had died 40 years ago that he wouldn't have known about.Who knows?

I´ve read that not only kids can do that, see and hear things, but also dogs. It´s a well known fact, experencied by many, of dogs pointing to a corner and barking hysterically.
We are limited by our hearing and seeing ability to a very small fraction of light wave lenghts and audible frequencies, so the world as we perceive it is not the whole.

For those that were stationed at Ft. Bragg and got to know the locals ,probably know about " The Vander Light". Old story regarding a trainman on stopped caboose waving an old lantern in attempt to stop another train. His train was rear ended, he died in crash. On some nights his lantern can be seen coming down the track, going into deep ditch by rail then coming back, continuing up track. When on pistol team another member had a cousin in Fayetteville. One night we invited them to our house for dinner. No booze involved. After dinner the cousin said, " hey lets go see the Vander light". we got in car and drove east to the " wide place in the road" called Vander. We stopped beside the crossing on side of road as there were several car loads of kids there making all kinds of noise. There were no houses around, woods on both sides of track for few 100 yds then field on left, woods rest of the way to another crossing about half mile away. His cousin said just wait until they leave which was about 10 minutes. We got out and walked about 100' east on tracks. Was a cool clear night with about half a moon. Cousin said keep watching the track down east. In a few minutes a small light appeared in the tops of the pine about half mile down track, it got brighter as it went down to the track. We were all amazed as light kept coming closer, going into ditch every few 100 yards. Cousin said ghost is looking for its head. Watched light until it got within 100 yards?, then in ditch. We all turned around to go back to car, wife had my arm. As with Lotts wife, she turned around for one last look, she screamed and dug nails into my arm, light was so close you could see the flicker of the flame on the wick! About 100 ' away, buddy's wife screamed too, all us guys were just watching. So you are entitled to your beliefs , but I know what I saw, there are many incidents in ones life that make no sense or there are no explanations.

Another Vander light story. In the late 80's we were traveling down I-95 and stopped for the night near Fayetteville, after checking in hotel we drove out to Vander with our 2 kids to show them the crossing. Well things change, there was a large pulp wood rail yard and houses on both side of the crossing. We were parked telling our kids about the " light" when this older black couple walked by. The Gentleman asked if we needed help, told him no were just telling our kids about the light. Well, turns out he grew up just down the road and was retired Army. He told us as a kid back in the 40's he and his buddies saw and got chased by the " light" many times. Said he had an old 22 revolver and he shot at the light, ran out of ammo and threw the revolver at it!. Went on to say the " light" went away when the pulp wood siding/ yard and all the houses went in.

My eldest sister Ellen died last October at age 70. She had a very difficult life. She was blinded soon after birth by too much oxygen in the incubator. She has had a continuous series illnesses and injuries these past dozen year.
When the medics, police, coroner, and funeral home attendants had left the apartment, my sister Susan, who has been Ellen's caretaker for many years fell asleep sitting on the couch out of exhaustion and stress.
She told me she was awakened by Ellen's voice, loud, exuberant, and clear,

"Sue! You would Love It Here!"

The farthest known galaxy is 13.2 billion light years away. Contemplate that distance and then think about how much we really know.

The more we learn about the universe the more questions we raise it seems. One thing we do know is that it is a bit chilly in the universe if you are not close to a star in a solar system like we are here on spaceship earth. About 455 degrees below zero actually. I doubt there are many ghosts running around in night gowns in that kind of night air.

My niece's daughter would stay at my sisters house while my niece worked.
While they were in the backyard she told my sister there was an old man on the roof and he wanted her to come to him.
She also would talk about the little boys that lived in the cellar.
She was probably 3-5 YO at the time.
My niece was talking to a woman that claimed to have the "gift", and the woman told her someone close to my niece had it too.
Her daughter is older now and doesn't "see" anything now or if she does, she doesn't mention it.

My niece, as a little girl, was playing with a friend, in her bedroom with a Ouija Board. My sister heard them scream, came flying down the stairs, grabbed the Bible, a started read from it, nearly in tears. I don't know if she ever said what happened.
