Just realized I had not posted a picture here of my 686-8 5" after all my postings.

The lock has been replaced by the "Plug". When the new grips get here this week and weather permitting maybe I can get the first rounds down range.

Thought about selling it as I have never like the feel of a K/L frame in my hand because they are a tad small in the grip for me. I post new pic's after the new grips arrive this week.

Didn't know Ruger ever made a unfluted cylinder. Your's lookes to have been a custom cylinder either by Ruger or gun smith.

I know they did on some single actions but have never seen one on a double action.

The Super Redhawks have unfluted cylinders for the .454 Casull. This one has been mated to a standard Redhawk.

Looks great, now the next question...do you shoot .454 Casull in it or just .45 Colt?

I've only used it for .45 Colt +P loads. The next owner can let me know how it feels to run Casull loads thru it

You would think in all the cost cutting over the years that S&W would have done away with the fluted cylinder and that extra machine work.

How does this wood look to you? Not bad for new under $60 delivered.
