I am a huge fan of prolific character actors who popped up all the time in the movies I grew up with. Who among us "boomers" does not see a very familiar face when we see Byron Foulger? He most often played a mealy mouthed, sniveling, cowardly, officious, duplicitous jerk. I was watching the latest installment of the Saturday morning serial "The Mysterious Mr. M" on TCM (these old serials are a HOOT). Byron distracts the bad guy (Colt Police Positive ?) and then pulls out his top break double action S&W and plugs him! That was a real surprise and VERY un-Byron like!! At least he closed his eyes when he shot.
