Ummm....errrr...David Carroll put me into a Model 1953 Kit Gun with the mark of the Devil, 666. I used to have a Colt SAA (Texas) with 665.
Someplace I've got a pair of k22s, K155 & K166. And I have a Centennial with # 157, and a Winchester M70 with serial 202. How about a M60 with 410014. Same either direction.
I once had a Winchester 54 .30-06 rifle, serial number 2525. I also had a Browning 1903 pistol in 9mm Browning Long, serial number 754. I would have to look at what else I have had.
I have one of the new-issue 642-1 with s/n DCMxxxx. Don't know how long the DCM prefix lasted thru the production run of 642-1.
It's just an interesting coincidence unrelated to the original DCM which, I think, is now the CMP, http://www.odcmp.com/
I have several Glocks with interesting serial prefixes, including "NRA", "AAA", and some others.
My favorite S&Ws though are the ones I use. They don't have unusual numbers, but I can tell them to you from memory. (It's kind of like knowing your wife's birthdate, knowing your favorite guns' serial numbers by heart.)
Back in 1988 I ordered a Colt Government Model series 80 in stainless steel. The dealer had me fill out a form from colt and it said serial #. Being a old soldier I put my SSN in that block.
To my suprise when I received it, the serial # was my SSN. Kind of cool. Chop
Nothing strange about the serial number but do I have a 2-1/2 inch 66 that is stamped 66-1 and there is a 2 stamped over the 1. Would this be a dash 1 and 2?
