UPDATE: How'd I Do

I don't think anyone can tell you if it is worth $1K or 2 snub noses without seeing it first. If it is original and in top condition, then perhaps $1K would be okay. But, in a trade, it would depend on the value you place on the 2 snub noses.

Well I know the 36 sells for about 400 without anything and the model 10 would probably go about the same I think ill offer one of them and 200 cash and see what he says

You paid top dollar for what looks like top quality based on the photos assuming that the 15 and the 28 are what they appear to be-later guns. Certainly not a "deal" in my book at least. If the 19 and 28 are indeed 4 screw no dash variations-then yes, you did well.

Sorry but you asked.

You said the 1917 was in excellent condition. But, the question remains is that original finish or refinish. A refinished gun can look fabulous but not have much collector value. $1K is not top dollar for an original excellent condition 1917 Commercial. However, your seller appears to be savvy about his guns and doesn't seem to be discounting them. You have to ask if the 1917 is all it is made out to be, why is he offering it to me at such a price?

It's suppose to be original and he's getting up in years and is ready to sell I think ill be good if hell take the deal at 200 and the 36 or mod 10

There isn't a 15 in the deal

My $0.02.

Do you plan to shoot the 38/357s you bought? If so, you have some great guns for shooting.

Do you go to bed at night writhing in pain because you do not have a 1917? If the answer to that question is "no" then you ought to keep the 38/357s you already have. At least that is how I would proceed with the decision. But, as I have oft stated, I have exorcised the collector ghost out of my parlor.

He just sold you the two snubbies, why would he want to take one of them them back in trade for the 1917?

He's just wanting to get rid of some guns he offered the 1917 up for 3k total I'm sure he'd sell it instead of one of the snubs to get more money

Please update us what the final deal was

all of them have the cleaning kits and paper work also he said they were no dash guns but i havent had them in my hands and I was sure all were unfired by one im sure they have been turned over the years the drag line looks faint in all the pictures

Ok Friday is almost here and I'm wondering if you are going to update us all with the finally tally?
Boxes will all goodies?
No dash guns with incorrect grips?
Did he take the trade for the 1917?

All will be awaiting photo's for sure.

Good luck!!!

For all practical purposes, yes. There's supposedly some factory nickel ones out there, but they are as rare as hen's teeth.

I actually like the flat blue look its a change for me. Most guns i have are a deep rich s&w blue or nickel or stainless except for one victory model.

That is pretty good IMHO. Here in Al they would go for around 600 to 700 a piece in that condition.

idk why but around here the 38s go for 500 in a really used condition people look for them i guess for the concealed carry aspect
