UPDATE; POST 62 MODEL 67 BARREL DEPARTED ON 3RD SHOT

The M-19 pinned barrel 4" I had cracked with factory .357 ammo. The frame cracked right through the pinned barrel. I believe the drill hole weakened the frame. S&W sent a newer version with out question. No one was hurt.

Well, my friend gor his letter from Smith on his model 67 regarding the separated barrel. The last word was it was in the metallurgy department. Apparently it passed the metallurgy testing and no issues were found with the specifications of the gun. Bottom line is they will repair the gun for the price of a barrel ($93.00) and one hour labor ($90.00) and taxes, etc, etc, etc. The owner of the Pawn Shop where he bought it and we both do business (since he opened the doors 20+ years ago) will give him a store credit for the cost of the repairs. Very generous in my opinion. So all is well that ends well.

I agree, that is the best possible ending to this story.
