Update: S&W customer service, found the right guy.

Unfortunately, the last time I gave a S&W CS rep a P/N (about a month ago), I got the wrong half of the part I needed. I gave them the right P/N, application and description, I just got the wrong part. The half of the part I really need is backordered indefinitely.

I hope the part you need is the one you get in the mail.
 
Wow, I am so surprised at these posts. I have contacted S&W CS three times in the past few months. Dialed the regular CS number, followed the prompts, one ring and a friendly voice on the phone. All three times they sent me a small part at no cost. Unfortunately one of those was the wrong part but they corrected the issue quickly. I have nothing but good to say about their fast friendly service.
 
Someone from Castboolits recommended a particular person from S&W tech support and had an extension number for them. A different person answered, but the wait time was less than a minute and he was able to find the part I needed, based on the part number that is on midway's web site.

He said the part is in stock and will be shipped out. Midway shows the part is still backordered. Getting a hold of the right guy, makes all the difference in the world.

Amen on that I had a 4026 grip on backorder for months and I finally cancelled it. When the one I got off ebay was worse than mine I called S&W back to reorder I got a different rep who was very knowledgeable and he somehow found one and it was shipped in just a few days.
