UPDATED JUNE 20th - JUST BROKE DOWN AND BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE EXPANDABLE HOSES

I bought one at Home Depot a couple of years ago. Popped the very first time I turned on the water. I'll stick to the old kind, thanks.

Think the wife used the one she ordered 2 or 3 times .. its in the "He told me not to buy it " box .. right next to my box of "Like New " holsters ..

EXCELLENT IDEA!!!! Going to look into a 3/4" x 100 feet if & when the expandable one gives out. Thanks!! :D

Those things are expensive! The site I found them on is charging almost a buck a foot! Anyone else find them cheaper? Great idea, but one drawback is that you have to use it completely unrolled.

I was a member of the local fire department for many years. Living in remote areas we had a number of wildland fires. Sometimes man made, many times from lightning strikes. Our job was to hold it to a small area till forest service crews could arrive. Every time we had it out by the time the people in the pickle suits arrived. Our stations were loaned what we called brush trucks which were small 1 ton trucks with small pumps and hand tools. Since space on these trucks was at a premium, we used smaller 1 1/2" and smaller hoses. These were made of a thin jacket of nylon that was tear resistant, as were had to drag them through the forest. When rolled up a 50' 3/4" hose was only 6" in diameter and 1" wide. I bought one for my personal use in my work truck. It takes up virtually no room in the tool box and is durable and easy to re-roll when done. I bought mine from a forestry supply online store. If the shrinking hoses do not pan out you might try one of these forestry hoses.

Is this the one you are talking about??? Might have to get one of these myself......Myti-Flo Hose, 50' GHT | Forestry Suppliers, Inc.

I have had 3 or 4. The first ones were junk but I liked the concept. I have a couple of the newer ones now with the brass ends. I like them because of the low weight and no kinks. They are much easier to put away and take up a lot less space.

Yes indeed those are the type of hoses most wildland firefighters use. They are made of a thin nylon? type of material. They come in most sizes but the 3/4" is a particular favorite. They are fairly tough hoses that get drug across rocks and snags with few failures. Easy to store either rolled up or just stuffed in a small bucket.

I am afraid the new collapsable one will starve the pressure washer for water.

I use a collapsible hose with my Sun Joe electric pressure washer with no problems at all. This hose is one of the newer hoses and works well. I had one of the original expandable hoses a while back that developed a huge bubble when I turned on the water and the hose exploded. Now I see one on TV that has a metal cover that looks pretty indestructible but not sure how much that hose weighs.

We ordered a J Millman & Sons hose on the internet. It came today and has a flaw. I have searched the internet and can't find out where this company is. They offer a no questions asked 100% guarantee. They are on Facebook so I e-mailed them and await their response.

If anyone knows where they are, please PM me.
