Just bought one of these, wondering about others experience with these holsters. I carry shield 9, wore it yesterday. Pretty stiff, getting some leather softener today. Still pretty comfortable, and drawing well with it. Thanks

I don't know this holster.

However, one should never use leather softener on a good holster. You will wreck the holster.

You need to manually insert and remove your gun from the holster a few hundred times.

There are no short cuts.

RPG - this isn't your normal holster. It's a pouch that slides up out of your waist when you pull on part of it. The manufactures specifically say you *should* use leather conditioner to make it work better.

I stand corrected. Do as the manufacturer directs.

To answer the OP's question - I tried one of these but I've got too much belly for appendix carry and sent it back.

Day three, pretty impressed with it. I'm tall and slender, and it's working great so far. I used some saddle soap, and worked the leather a lot over the weekend. Its molding to my gun really nice. I also removed the license holder on the back by cutting the stitching. That seemed to help a lot. Isn't digging into waistline. Also helped drawing, but maybe it's just me getting better doing it and the breaking in of the leather. Disadvantages are as advertised. Difficult to draw setting down, but possible. Takes practice drawing, I can do it one handed, but it's fumblely. I also noticed some wear on my talon grip, but was fixable and I'm attributing that to working the gun into the holster repeatedly. Otherwise, I find it to be the most comfortable holster I've wore. I was kinda worried it would stick out of pants and make me seem excited so to speak. But the gun stays over toward pocket and just looks as though you have something in it. As expected, works better with some pants than others. I'll be trying it out, but think maybe I'll be using this holster a lot. Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out.

The one I got wouldn't let my Shield slip down below my belt line so it was extremely uncomfortable.

I'd go OWB before ever considering something that makes your gun inaccessible while sitting down.
You literally have to wear your pants loose enough to pass a firearm across the waistline.
My standards for carry include being able to reliably draw and shoot with one hand. Any two-handed contraptions are dealbreakers. One hand needed for defense and distraction while other draws.

What size do you use for the Shield 9? Thanks.

I bought all three sizes for my different guns, I wanted to try them all. I don't use them for CC but I did take the large one to Europe on a trip to hold my wallet. It did a very good job of keeping my wallet safe and away from wandering hands.

I'm getting ready to order their Urban Cache to use on a vacation to Las Vegas next month. Will play with it a little bit to determine if I want to order a holster for my M&P 40c.
