USSF rolled out its logo and motto today.

"Semper Supra" or Always Above

Space Force Debuts New Delta Logo, Motto - Air Force Magazine

For those who make statements about this looking like Star Fleet, please take the time to actually read the information on the announcement. The delta has been used by USAF space related units since 1961. Star Trek started airing in 1966.

Star Fleet or AAA school safety patrol- crossing guards.
I think it looks silly. Definitely not comparable to the Globe and Anchor, but everything about the USAF uniform is mundane.
That's the best we can come up with?

Instead of airmen they could have vacuum men. Well that is to "gender specific" How about vacuums and everyone would call them suckers. LOL

Feather weights, not even. Hmm, something will come to me.

But, then 99.99% of them won't get any higher than 42,000 ft. The top elevation for commercial flights

Spacemen.

Or, if they have olive drab work uniforms, little green men.

:D

Other than knowing it exists, I know nothing about it. Do they have a recruitment program or do you have to be in the Air Force to be transferred to it? If it exists as a separate branch of service what are the training requirements?

I don't know very much, either, but I believe they're still working things out. For right now, I believe all their personnel came from the Air Force, primarily the Space Command, which is now the Space Force. My understanding is that it will fall under the Air Force in the same way the Marine Corps falls under the Navy.

I could be wrong, though.

Shouldn't have any problems filling the ranks. Plenty of space cadets in this country.

Can't argue, so many just taking up space....

But with so many candidates, how do you pick and choose? Are they considered above average candidates if they take up more space than average, or....

All I see is the Pontiac arrowhead.

As we expand more into space, will we use Army or Navy ranks? In all the old sci-fi movies and shows, spaceships were organized like naval vessels. Star Trek and Star Wars spaceships had naval ranks, with high ranking Captains and Admirals.

Whatever they do, Godspeed to those that will serve.
I think assigning rank according to naval tradition makes sense.
