My local dealer has a used 6906 with 4 mags for $350.00 it looks like its in good shape. I don't know how old it is but it does have the square front trigger guard.

Do you think $350.00 sounds fair?

Is there any real way to tell what kind of shape this is in?

I, like the OP apparently, would never disclose the location of a pirate treasure. At least, not before I looted the place.

$350 for a used 6906 is a decent deal IF the weapon hasn't been abused. Check the frame rails for galling which is a sign that it was run while dry or extremely dirty.

i'd pay $350.00 for one that is in O.K. condition. VG is about $375.00 to $425.00 depending on your area...Novak lo-mount carry two dot rear sights, nice...

Sounds plenty fair to me. I am not sure I could adequately explain in a simple post the things to look for when buying a used pistol. I know I have learned a few things over the years, got burned a few times. First thing, and you are doing it right now, get on an internet forum that deals with that specific brand of guns and get some opinions about what sort of gun they are from people that have used them. I currently have a 6904 and have owned a 6906 in the past and I will tell you, they are great little concealed carry guns. Someone had tried to do a trigger job on the 6906 I bought, and butchered it, so when I got it, I had to take it to a gunsmith to put it back in proper order.

Since it is an alloy frame gun, I would take the slide off and have a close look at the frame rails for cracks, if it has been shot a ton, or someone has run some too hot stuff through it, that possibility can exist. If the shop happens to have a range, see if the guy will let you run a box of ammo through it.

This one looks like stainless on stainless is this possible? I thought all 6906 pistols were stainless on alloy frame?

One of my biggest regreats is that I didn't buy the 6906 I was issued when I started being a cop. Forgive me for falling under the spell of the dreaded Glock.

I paid a bit more for mine , with 3 mags and original box , sounds like a fair price to me . They do make great summer conncealed carry guns , I'd rank mine right behind the 3913 as my favorite .

I checked it out again at the gun shop last night and this time I pulled the slide off and the rails looked good although the smaller front rails on the frame looked a little bit worn. The larger rails on both the frame and slide looked quite good. I took the barrel out and it had no scratches on the outside and the lockup was tight so im thinking this may be one to get.
