Used 940 value?

Any ideas on what a used 940 is worth with about 1000 rounds through it? No box? 1000 rounds seems alot to me for a j-frame?

Up to about $650-$700 depending on condition and who's buying and how bad they want one.

1000 rounds is nothing. I would say the value would be anywhere from 500-700 depending on the availability in your location. Those numbers are at the extreme ends of the price range.

I probably have ten thousand rounds through my 80's vintage model 60 . No problems ever . In Mass , I have not seen a 940 for under 850$ in three years . Yes , I am looking for one also to round out my collection of J frames .

I saw one on Gunbroker not too long ago, with a bid of $1000 on it. Yes, it sold.

I waited and found one not too long ago in the low $600's. I did have to add Spegel grips, I couldn't take the Uncle Mikes rubber ones.

A lot of thanks to Headknocker for the loan of the flex hones to polish out the chambers. It now works flawlessly.

Well by searching Gunbroker it looks like they should be going for about $355 to $435 used and around $600+ for NIB.

I think these are pretty popular and I think the $500.00 zone is more realistic. If I found one cheaper, I would be breaking my arm trying to get my wallet out quick!!

I see the 2 examples your posted and I would have definately jumped on them. I honestly cant believe they sold for that price. Those deals do come along now and then but arent common enough to be considered market price in my book.

Just so I know it is possible to get one at a reasonable price, I will wait, till a deal comes along. And BTW the Gunbroker auctions are typical, because I only found about a total of 5 or 6 that sold in the last 3 months.
