Have read that putting one in your tumbler will clean the media.

Tried it.

Wow ! It works perfectly. Came out blackened as it could be.

Now I have to start saving all the old ones.

Starting with clean walnut shells and always using used dryer sheets, the media will last a very long time. Adding Nu Finish or mineral spirits helps cut down on dust, but will eventually make the media black because the powder and primer dust will stick to it.

Using sheets in dry media will cause the sheets to carry away the soot and leave the media clean.

It helps to have a couple of teenagers in the house because the washer/dryer is in constant use and there's an ample supply of used dryer sheets

Not to say that we used to shove dryer sheets in toiletpaper cardboard tubes and used that device to exhale possibly illicit plant material when we were teenagers and someone who isn't me was afraid mom would come home ...... but I've heard of such things.

Dryer Sheets

Been saving the used ones for the tumbler, works Great!!. Nice and dirty when I dump `em. Brass nice and shiny!. Who could ask for more?.

Since I don't really have access to used sheets (other than laundromat trash cans) I have found that paper towels cut into strips work just as well. They just don't give the same smell....

Years ago I heard about the dryer sheet and have been using it sucessfully. Additionally, I have found that if I put 4-5 large rifle caliber brass in with my .45,.38, etc. that they seem to clean better. I did this by omission years ago. I got to thinking that perhaps the all one size brass in the tumbler set up a rythm (or more like a current in a river) and follow each other along. I believe the larger brass disrupts this and allows the smaller brass to "move out of cadence" if you will. I don't know how it works but you might want to try and see if you notice cleaner brass.

Regards

Bill

Thanks i'll have to try it out.

FYI: clean dryer sheet and glass cleaner will remove the bugs from your front bumper. spray glass cleaner on bumper and wipe with dryer sheet. bugs come right off. try it works everytime....

Lizard cage media is too inexpensive to worry about cleaning. I just dump it and pour in new stuff.
