Ive had an on and off hankering for a M&P 9 for 2-3 years. I'm really a 1911 fan and have discovered the 1911 in 9mm. However, I still kinda sorta want a M&P 9. I also need one to test with my latest sight pusher design, so I have a pretty good excuse to buy one.
The local pawn shop has a full size, with CT grip. Clean looking gun, but no box or extra mag. Also the CT appears to need batteries. Bottom line is $375 OTD. We have 10% sales tax, so thats around $340 before tax Would not think it a very good deal except for the CT. I know they add about two bills to the new price.
What say ye all? Deal or no deal?

I found a used one at a LGS in the box, no extra mag or NS, $499. New one just like it, $529. That's before the 8% sales tax.
And folks wonder why I prefer to purchase online!!!!!

Just the CT worth more than $150.00 new. IMHO for a well looking M&P 9F $340.00 is a good price. Here in South Florida you can buy it new for around $500.00. Internet price is between $450-$550

Just looked at Buds. A new one that appears to be the same model with CT is $665. Of course it comes with all the accessories. It just dawned on me that the box-less one I'm looking at also does not have the extra grip adapters. Might not need or want them but they would be nice to have. Not sure what they would cost from the factory. Probably not too much.

Having a barrel and slide in good condition is what care the most. Any other internal stock part of the M&Ps are less than $15.00, except the whole striker assy and the sear house (30ish each)

I would buy a truck load of them at that price.

Mags are on sale at BotachTactical for under $20.

I bought a new M&P range kit about 3 months ago for $450+ tax. I'd say you have found a pretty good deal. As said mags are on sale @ botach for under $20 and grip inserts are cheap.

What are you waiting for? Go buy it!

I'd jump on that price. Hell, i have one, and i'd buy that one TOO if i was closer.

I paid 450 for mine used (slightly), no CT

Bought my used M&P 9mm 4.25, 2 mags, 3 back straps, apex sear and ram installed, along with the trigicon night sights for $440.

Well the M&P followed me home. Two new batteries solves the laser problem. I stopped by the range on the way home and ran a quick mag thru it. All 17 went bang without a hitch and there were 17 plates dead or wounded.

Just bought one of those $19.95 mags for it. With that and the batteries I've got an almost new CT FS for right at $400. I can spend and extra $10 and order a factory case when I get around to it.

No need in buying extra back straps. I didn't realize the CT was attached to the blackstrap until I took it apart to install the batteries. Duhhhhh. The grip with the CT is a bit larger than the standard M&P grip. Doesn't feel quite as good in my hand as a regular M&P. I'll get used to it.
