I wanted something as anonymous as possible. No offense meant to the fine hordes of Peter Peterson's out there...

When I was a kid, I would pretend I was a cop, just like my grandfather. I had the whole get-up on. Real badge, the works. I was pretty qualified, as in those days, I did quite a few what nowadays are called "ride-alongs" with my Pap.
When I would arrest or detain my father, which was a nightly occurrence, and ask him for his name, he would always reply "Pete Moss". This would earn him a nightstick, or at the minimum, a blackjacking. I may have drawn my duty Mattel Python once or twice, but these were the days before camera phones...
When my boys were older, in the same scenario, my answer was always- Pete Peterson. I wanted to be original.

And here I always thought you were the Pirates GM!!!!

:D

Mine took years of me thinking:eek: and 3 computers to make up my code name RADCO :rolleyes:
R=Richard , A=And , D=Donna , Co. = Company the name of my HVAC company I had when I lived in Ct.

I've told this on here before, but this thread is an appropriate place to
confess again. About 20 years ago, due to health issues I gave up all
hunting. Therefore I gave away all of my long guns. When I told my
wife she said "you what...are you crazy?" Well Crazy Phil just kinda
stuck. P.S. One that I gave away was a very old Model 70 Winchester
with Weaver K4 scope. I can honestly say it never missed.

He has two versions, early and late. He didn't like the way the early version ended so he rewrote the ending. He states it took him 40 years to write that song.

Back in about '74 I was working evening shift patrol and had a new partner. One night we rousted a guy in an area where he appeared to not belong. Back then profiling was an art. Anyway, we ran wants & warrants, he came back clean, so I started into a scolding. After we got back in the unit my partner looked at me and stated "you ain't nothing but a hardcase". It stuck

When kayaking these little wildcat creeks in the Appalachians, you always get out and scout the rapid before you run it. You pick your line down the rapid, set safety (Paddlers with throw ropes) and either run the rapid or carry it. Carrying means to walk around the rapid. I promised myself that I Will Carry any rapid I want for any reason I choose. It kept me alive.

When I was a child my dad was a huge train enthusiast and shared his passion with me. There was a small tourist railroad built on the side of Penn View Mountain, just four miles from my home. My dad and I spent many Saturday and Sunday afternoons riding the train, even cab rides in the steam locomotive- former Frisco and Mississippian Ry. #76. Old steamloco 76 also hauled passengers for the Gettysburg Railroad form 1976 until around 1989 or so. She is currently at the Steam Train Institute in Michigan undergoing a very slow rebuilding. Hopefully I'll see the old locomotive under steam again someday.

My username is based on the manufacturers of the pistols I spend the most time shooting. It also allowed me to create an avatar from the those manufacturers' logos that spells out my username. (Oh so clever, eh?)

After I joined the forum, I acquired an FNH FNX45-T semi-auto, which I also shoot frequently. However, changing my username to "swsigfnh" seemed a bit much, so it's "swsig" I remain.
