Brian,
Did you read all of the small print that Pay Pal sent to you? Forget it!!!! Even Caj here would have a hard time reading the small print......
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full
I let my Pay Pal expire a few years back now...I'll be ****'** if I give them any of my financial information, so they can share it with others..(read the small print).
I live fairly close to one of the PayPal service centers, I went to their office one time to try and discuss their security in person...I couldn't even talk to someone in person...They had me talk to someone from the lobby phone....They didn't even have the courtesy to talk to me in person. (for their security reasons......B/S)
Could they guarantee that all of their employees were not some felon? NO...
They want all the information about me, but wouldn't say squat about them.
No thanks...Cash works fine, or I make a call or E:mail to who ever is selling what ever, and see if they will take payment other than PayPal...Most will...But if they say they'll only take PayPal, then I don't need it that bad.
With all the hacking you read about.....Not me......
Here's another little tid bit....If you do NEED/HAVE TO use PayPal. use your credit card to pay, not linked to you checking or debit account. If there is a problem between you and the seller, you can call the credit card company, and have the charges reversed....The reversed charges then will show up to PayPal, that the money was cancelled...That gets their attention..NOW....
But even that....I don't use PayPal for anything...Period.
So IMO, it's not just "Buyer Beware", It's also called...
USER BEWARE.
