I got a gift certificate and I ordered some parts for my late 70's F-150. Nothing expensive, just parts.

I met the mail man at the mail box and he handed me the box. The box was smashed on one end and I said, "I hope everything is there!" His reply, "Me too!"

A closer look revealed that box wasn't just smashed, but the fiber tape was cut open. Given the amount of tape, the box wouldn't have opened if it were just smashed, it was deliberately cut open.

Here's what was in the box:
-Two flat plastic pieces of plastic that are the wheel well inner fenders on the bed.
-Turn signal relay
-Door switch for the interior lights
-Rubber bumpers for various doors
-Assorted trim clips
-Two wiring harness pig tails

The box was 24" X 12" X 3".

To my surprise, after checking the packing list, everything was still there!

Makes you go hmmmm...

That just means you didn't have anything they wanted...
I'm still waiting for a package with signature required that was supposed to be delivered Monday- just up and into the ether between St Louis and NC...

My thoughts, the package went through an x-ray machine and the contents may have looked like an explosive device to someone.
But, there again, if someone thought it was something nefarious why did they compromise the packaging? Ha. Kaboom!:)

Just some thoughts.

With the relay, door switch and pig tails, I was thinking that, too.
The box was clearly marked where it was from - it's a big parts company.

If they did cut it open to look, they could've at least, taped it back up. It even looked like it was run over with something, too.

I had a similar incident with a box of cigars that I ordered online. The box was torn open with the contents easily accessible but everything that I ordered was in the box.
Two boxes of cigars, a bundle of five cigars and a can cozy.

I ordered a hydraulic crane and the box was shredded. I’d bet my life something was missing. It was all there down to the nuts and bolts.

I had a rifle delivered and the box was almost completely in half. The gal who delivered it said check it. Her eyes popped out when she seen what it was. Perfect fiddle back stock a really Purdy one.

I just lost two cases of Halloween candy, the email said the boxes were trashed at the hub as per amazon in the next town. I waited but amazon never contacted me. I had to email them for credit. The candy was free. I got the credit and purchased it again for free it arrived.

Auntie sends a Christmas card postmarked Aspen Co. every year. It never arrives unopened. Don’t have a clue as to what postal location it is opened but, someone must have stolen granny’s Christmas cash mailed to the grandkids thru the Aspen PO before. Any other time of the year her mail arrives without being inspected.

I ordered 50 large peat moss pots for the wife to use early next year in green house. I got a basically destroyed box with the correct tracking numbers. No pots, just 2 large, green, odd, hand held scoops. Post lady and I laugh about it. She had no clue what happened where.
