USPS parking facilities

Well, now I have to find a place on the street to park when I'm forced to go to the post office!!!!

Maybe I'll just have the missus make all post office trips!!

I've been doing this since I got my CHP. I park on the street and my wife goes in. The one time I parked in the lot I sat there worrying that someone would back into me and I would be in trouble. It's just not worth the worry or hassle.

The one time I parked in the lot I sat there worrying that someone would back into me and I would be in trouble.

And that would be the risk. A fender-bender in the lot (I've seen many, as my PO has a very cramped and difficult to maneuver lot) winds up with police called to write it up, you are asked for ID, and everything goes downhill from there.

Our little post office had 5 off street parking spaces. One is a handicap space and the space next to the door is marked reserved for postmaster. I always park in the "reserved for postmaster" space whenever it is unoccupied. Once he pulled up and yelled at me and I told him that he should have been there already and that when I was finished my business he could have his space back. I hate the entitlement mentality of government employees.

Caj,

That is sooo funny!

How is your mail delivery?

Perhaps we should ask them if we should leave our weapons on the sidewalk while on USPS property?

I drive past the USPS office and go to the UPS Store. The one here welcomes carry.

There is no street parking by our main post office, it is located on the edge of town. One day I slipped and forgot my LCP was in my pocket, and carried a box in to mail. Wasn't much of a line and so I just finished my business and left.

I checked the 3 post offices in my area and none of them have any posting prohibiting firearms - - - will not press my luck but I feel a good case could be made if someone was to inadvertently carry there.
