UTAH CCW class in Illinois

Buford and Lost Lake seem to be correct. As I stated earlier, I took the Utah CCW class in October (at a state college no less), today I received my Utah concealed firearm permit. Right at ten weeks.

Utah no longer offers concealed carry permit if you don't have a permit from your home state. Early on you could receive one but that is no longer the case. I have a relative that encountered this change.

Yep. I got my non-res Utah permit here in Ohio as it covered a few states I wanted that did not have reciprocity with OH at the time. The $5 renewal was appealing too. I assume that will I will have to get my OH permit before I can renew my Utah.

IIRC, OH did not like it that quite a few Ohioans were getting non-res permits and told Utah that reciprocity would no longer be granted if they didn't require that applicants have a permit from their home state.

I am a Wisconsin resident who has had a Utah permit several years prior to Wisconsin offering their license. Wisconsin is reciprocal with Utah, however as a Wisconsin resident I was required to have the Wisconsin license to legally carry concealed in Wisconsin. Honestly, quite a few of us weren't expecting that. It is what it is. I used my Utah permit to qualify for the Wisconsin license and now am privileged in all states reciprocal with the Utah non-resident permit and the Wisconsin resident license.

It is a better deal than what we had.
