V serial # ? Please help

I appreciate any guidance, I am getting thrown off by what I am seeing, so any and all help is appreciated

Serial number on the bottom of the butt is V102190

Crane has a number 1 on it

Then below that is 39372

Here are pics if anybody can assist in narrowing down exactly what this is

That is a Victory Model Military and Police revolver. The company made 811,119 of the from 1942-1945.
Looks like a pretty decent one.
In 1957 the Military and Police revolver became the M10. They still make them.

I was having a heck of a time with it

Hoping I have it priced according to condition at the $449

This one would have shipped ca. September 1942. The wooden grips are not original, probably from the later 1950s. I can't tell for sure from the pictures if the finish is original or not. During that period it's possible that it may have originally been blued, but it's a little late for that. Ant it looks lie the hammer and trigger are blued, and they shouldn't be. If you have not bought it yet, I'd urge caution before pulling out your billfold.

Man the blueing is pretty faded everywhere on the gun, I cant tell if the trigger or hammer are blued or not, but they do not appear to be

That gun was not blue originally. Probably was midnight black / black magic finish or Parkerized. It would have looked something like this.

I do not see any obvious signs it was blued, i am saying "blued" assuming thats what it was. My lack of knowledge coming thru by using improper terminology ( not on purpose, but just dont know )

Whatever the finish was, it is faded up towards the muzzle

Front sight is later or modified , and the overall condition is not something that'd encourage me to buy it at all, let alone for that price.

For that money, I'd hope to find a nice M-64 stainless; certainly at least a good blued M-10 that'd take modern ammo better.

$449 is a little high IMO. But there's nothing a later gun can do better, it would just look newer. Not in collector condition but it would make a fine working revolver. If you could get a C note off it would be an OK deal. Again, just my opinion.

I'd agree. Anything south of $350 would be a reasonable price if someone wants to move it as a shooter. That's all it is.
