A friend of mine passed, and his wife wants me to sell some of his guns. The is a Model 1006 in excellent condition with six factory magazines and the original box. I have no idea what a fair price is.

Hopefully someone can give me an idea.

I agree, pistol and two magazines these days can expect to fetch as much as $1500. Spare magazines typically cost around $100 each. As good as the S&W 10mm pistols were, there just are not many around and the finite supply of factory magazines are the only magazines available. This makes them rather expensive toys.

This thread dates from late last year, but its probably close.

As pointed out, 1006 are most common of the 3rd generation 10mm. Condition matters but this assumes good condition. Original box adds, magazines add. White followers are later mags, yellow followers are early mags. As to mag prices, I think $80-100 is pretty much the floor for original 10 mm mags - I have seen sell on ebay at $200.

But price package too high and it wont sell - I would advertise with 3 mags for $1200-1500 and option to add extra mags at $80-100 each. If buyer passes on mags list on ebay at $200 ea or best offer.

Best place to advertise is probably forum classifieds below - no commission or fees - but be aware of shipping expense - the cost of shipping a firearm particularly through a FFL has gone thru the roof in last year.
