Hello everybody, I have come to you today to finally get a solid value down on my gun. It is a Model 10-5 .38 Special. It is blued and has the factory wood grips. It has a 4 inch barrel. It is in pretty good condition. I'd say at least %85. I really don't know how to upload photos, but I've provided a pretty good description. I'm considering selling it.

I go along with that. I bought a 48 years old 10-5 on GunsAmerica last year for about $400, give or take. It was at about 98% or better with only one very small bit of rust on the yoke, a very faint, almost nonexistent turn line on the cylinder and some very light wear around the muzzle; grips matched the serial number of the revolver. No box.

I live in NE Oklahoma. I'll get some pics tomorrow. I've seen prices of 350-550, but I'd like to just get a solid number from some people who know their ****.

I agree that we need pictures, but I also agree with gunnails' price range. I got very lucky and bought the one shown here at a small, private auction a few months ago for $435 delivered. I consider that to have been a bargain, given its condition and the presence of all accouterments except for the instruction sheet. It wears its original PC stocks. The tools bag remains unopened! :)
Model 10-5 with a D prefix and it dates to 1968.

Yeah. Sorry. You just won't get a "solid number". Too many variables. Someone may give $400 for I gun I wouldn't give $250 for. Location. Box and docs. Does somebody "need" a 10-5 to round out a collection they have etc.

I don't really need or want another model 10. (Nothing in the world wrong with them, I just don't want another). So, I would pick one up for $200 from an individual but that's it for me. That gun in California might bring $500.

Really, hit some gun auction sites and see what they sell for. Not the asking price, for the best idea on value.

Model 10-5 pricing structure.

Sgt 127 has posted some realistic information. Nailing down an actual precise figure within the $325 to $450 range will be "iffy" at best, assuming your 85% condition estimate is borne out by your photos. Will you sell it to a local neighbor, wholesale to a LGS or put it on an auction site? All will impact price.
regards,
