I am interested in a Model 39 Steel frame on Gun Broker that is listed as Unfired. The gun does have two small nicks on the grip handle.

What is a fair price for this model with a steel frame?

Thank you,

Ralph

Well given the completed auctions on GB, I can tell you it's not the $2800+ they are attempting to get. Thousands of collectors, both serious and casual, have seen the two examples GB pulls up (I can't go back any further) and have made zero bids.

Recent auctions put an example like this around $2k.

I sold one this year on GB for more than 2800+. Mine had box and docs. But no factory letter. (Steel is steel and teh serial number ranges are pretty narrow.
I have seen them go for $4K. Lowest I have seen recently was $2500. Unless they are beat up or not righteous.. Steel frame
Prices I am giving are for excellent examples 98-99% in original box. I am not sure what you are bidding on condition wise.

Ralph, there are many qualifiers in coming to a price. For one thing, you really have to like the model 39 platform. Just go with a gun you feel comfortable with. All I got. Mike

I looked and I believe I saw the model youre interested in. Since Model 39 sub-collectors are a growing thing, the price will likely get well over 1K. They low-balled the opening bid to get interest and hope someone gets irrational on their bidding. Like the 1086 a year or so ago that went for over 5K. We're all still shaking our heads on that one.
