Just looking for a value on a pre model 15 k38 I have. It's a 4 inch model with original grips, Small amount of holster wear on the barrel but good shooter condition I'd say, sadly no box or papers. And if it's worth trading for an offered model 66-2 that's in good condition or should I keep her. Having trouble uploading pics at the moment but I'll keep trying.

I think most would say it would be in the $500 asking price neighborhood at typical gun shows, depending upon actual condition. You might get on the GunBroker site and see what those similar to yours have actually sold for. I bought a more cosmetically challenged (but perfectly sound otherwise) one several months ago for $225.

I've purchased 2 pre model 15s in the last 6 months. The last one was a first year production in very good condition for 455.00. You didn't say if the trade for the 66 was even or included some cash. The 15 is a really nice revolver and I'd have a hard time trading one of mine for a 66 unless I just felt the need to have a .357 vs .38.

It would be a straight up trade. I do have a few other full size .357s in the collection so I suppose I don't need it for that. Just wondering if it's too good to pass up. Then again there's less and less k38's every day

Unless there is something special about your model 15 then 300-350 would be trade value... after all, it is a 38. If it was the more popular model 19, then the value increases. Again, there are a zillion out there and the market seems soft on medium frame 38's.
