I know there's a few Vermonters here. This one is from the usual suspects. Call your legislator, talk to your neighbors, tell them what you think. And notice the headline, the press now considers any semi automatic gun a "Assault Weapon"

They sure are. After many complaints (including from me), the reporter changed the headline and removed Assault Weapon. But its an intentional attempt to get people that are neutral on the issue to support the law. I would expect this tactic to be used in other areas as well, disguising laws that affect classic sporting arms as assault weapon controls.

I'm guessing that this is a new tactic to begin an all-out ban on firearms. First, label all semi-automatic weapons as assault weapons or weapons of war, but you can keep your revolvers, pump actions, lever actions, and bolt action firearms (for now). I fear that once we go down this slippery slope, it will eventually lead to being able to possess only a muzzle loader.

The phrase "assault-style weapon" makes me cringe; not because I'm afraid, but because it's so ignorant.
