Just got back from the range with my new AR15 sport. I have never shot an AR. Shot from out 25 yard range with the factory sights. It looked like the rear sight was pretty well centered so did nothing to the gun. The very first 3 rounds can be covered with a quarter and dead center on the target.
Can't believe it!!! Was sitting and had the forearm on a rest.
Using 55gr Wolf gold.

You should shoot both the 50 yard distance and 100 yard distance if your range has those distances. I recommend the 50 yard zero for the 55 grain FMJ ammo because that makes it 2 inches high at 100 yards and back to zero at 200 yards. There are several discussions up here on a 50 yard zero verses a 100 yard zero with 55 grain FMJ ammo.

Yup, shoot 100 yards and let us know how she hits. If you do your part at 100, the rifle will do it's part.

My current range only has 25 yards. Just looked at a range that's a little farther away, but it has a club house, a rifle range of 100 and 200, a pistol range of 25, three trap sites and a bow range with a elevated deck. Open just in the day time except for night clay pigeon shoots, all for $60 per year. Joining next week!

You got a bit of a mean streak rubbing it in like that, dontcha? :p

Congrats. That sounds like a great find.

My rifle range, (my neighbor's property), doesn't have a membership fee...unless of course you count friendship, beer and cigars. (The beer and cigars are enjoyed when we're not saddled with firearms.)

We don't have very long range shooting...though we may enhance that a bit with some judicious use of his heavy equipment, but it's within walking distance and I don't have to wait for a spot.
