...Is the bbl stamped with the serial number? If you think the bbl was replaced I wonder if they were still re stamping replacement bbls after WWII

The barrel has no SN in the shroud, nor are there any rework marks on the gun... But all the roll marks on the barrel are period correct and centered. I wish I knew all the history of this one.

It is perfect as is. Please Richard, no scratcherino.

I do not plan on getting this one engraved. I typically select engraving candidates that have some wear, damage, or surface corrosion that needs covered by engraving. That is a much more satifying transformation to see it before and after.
