Vets helping Vets (video link NSF young ones)

Here is a video link from the University Southern CA - a student produced short film on OEF OIF/PTSD, which depicts a 24 hour period of an OIF Vet's life. It was definitely worth watching, IMO. Essentially an early 20-something male - trying to make a life after military and IRAQ. It's about 18 min long --- no talking - but has a visual impact.

At the end, well I am not going to tell you what happens at the end. You will just have to find out by watching, or be content not knowing.

Be warned, it has clips of graphic traumatic flashback scenes.

In some cases, extremely graphic, I would not let small children or squemish adults watch it.

The word "powerful" comes to mind about the film.

Volunteer at the USO-When at the airport shake the hands of these people, get on line and donate to Wounded Warrior or some other project, volunteer at the VA hospital, send monthly care packages (there are some kids who get no mail-at all). If you are a vet-join the DAV, VFW, American Legion-take these young people out shooting, hunting, fishing.
When I came back from the first Gulf War, my son was about 9-now he's now a Battery Commander getting ready for his third tour. Combat has a profound effect on these folks.
I want to thank the members of this forum for being so supportive-sadly there is a high percentage of our population who are completely divorced from the wars.
A week ago I went to a memorial dedication for a young Captain killed in Afghanistan in '07. A top notch student, talented officer, killed by a pressure plate device. I'm now in the business of helping to defeat these types of weapons. Above all-keep the faith-we are winning-we will prevail.
