I have an old Victory model revolver I picked up awhile back. I was noticing that the blue book shows the Victory's only available in 2 or 4 in barrels. Mine has a 5 in barrel. Is the book wrong or what. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have the Great Book of Knowledge (the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson) in front of me, but I think they did do "Victory" models occasionally with 5" barrels. Ask over on the pre-1945 forum.

Check the other forum, but you probably have a .38/200 British contract gun. If so, it is NOT a .38 Special, unless someone "converted" it. Which they shouldn't do, for reasons too long to type here.

Most of those had five-inch barrels.
