I saw a Victory yesterday with all matching numbers including grips. Finish was probably original and a muddy gray, like it just was so dirty. Was a pre-hammer block safety model with the usual dings but not excessive finish wear. The cylinder was a little sloppy due to a lot of wear on the cylinder stop. Not a pristine gun, but all matching. It was a 4" 38 Special with smooth grips. There was a very small mark possibly a flaming bomb on the butt to the left of the S/N. No other special marks that I could see. Lanyard ring still there and a "V" S/N. The bore and chambers were very nice and shiny. Would you say this is in the range of $200 to $250 or would it be greater than that?

It is hard to rate a gun without pics. If the cylinder stop is worn, that is an easy fix, and from the description it should look better with a good cleaning. The matching grips are a plus. I would buy that gun in a heartbeat in the $200-250 range

From what you describe, your "range" is about $100 to low. Ed.
