Victory?

This could be a Victory but the barrel has been cut and the finish has been changed. Victory models came with 5 inch barrels (38 S&W) and 4 inch (38 Special). There were a very few 38 Special Victory models with 2 inch barrels, but a factory letter should be obtained to verify the gun was originally a 2 inch model. The photo clearly shows a cut barrel as there is no locking lug under the barrel as originally required. The serial number will be stamped on the butt of the grip frame and under the barrel and on the rear of the cylinder. All of these numbers should match.

Serial number is V189027 and matches on all components. Any thoughts on value, I would guess if the barrel is cut value is compromised. Are the grips correct?

No, those are Magna grips, where the wood carries up on the frame.

The correct grips would have been smooth service style.

Value is very much compromised grips are wrong too most wouldn't buy it for any price as a shooter for parts maybe.
