Thinking about a victory for a range gun,I haven't had a chance to actually look at one yet but was wondering how accurate it is? I probably wouldn't be adding any optics. Also what material is the trigger made of,Any other opinions on this gun would be great~ Thanks~ Rick

A friend of mine in Colorado bought a used one last summer and I had a chance to shoot it twice. The first time it exhibited several jams and failures to eject. A bit of searching on this forum revealed the tip to tweak the ejector arm. I did, and the second time out it functioned flawlessly.

We only had a short range session, mostly devoted to function testing and simple comparison to her Buck Mark Practical pistol, so I don't have any detailed first hand accuracy results. But, they did shoot about equal in accuracy. I read a review from two years ago by American Rifleman that showed averages for five 5-shot groups at 25 yards. Those results were 1.03" for Browning BPR 40g RN, 1.28" for CCI Mini-Mag RN, and 1.18" for Norma Tac 22 RN. There are probably other online reviews with accuracy results.

For more detailed reviews & opinions, check out the S&W sub-forum on Rimfirecentral.com. Lots of info there.

I will say I enjoyed shooting it, and really liked the standard FO sights.

The Victory is a Very Good purchase right from the factory as they are quite Accurrate, have a really decent trigger and are quite easy to service as well. For the Price Range they are a excellent buy. All kinds of attachments in the market place as well. The main problem has been the ejector needing to be tweaked. Usually thats a one time fix and the gun shoots great from all reports on here for many months now.

I have had one for about 1-1/2 years. Great accurate range gun. I shoot plates as well as indoor bullseye. I have a inexpensive red/green dot for use with bulleye.t sight is fine for shooting plates at 30'. Lots of reasonable upgrades available.

I love mine. Bought it in 2016 and have almost 2200 rounds down range. I also got a inexpensive red/green dot for it and it is a load of fun. Eats .22's so easy.

The circle is 7" in diameter. One inch for each decade of my life.

The Victory SW22 out of the box is a great entry level target pistol.

PROS:

The stock trigger is nice and has a adjustable trigger stop. The magazines eject with authority. Breakdown is straightforward. Comes with two mags & a picatinny rail. Ate pretty much whatever brand ammo I fed it. Reliable as long as the screws didn't keep coming loose...

CONS:

Picatinny rail is ABS plastic. Take down screw can be a hassle eg, super tight when new, sometimes the barrel nut will spin along with the takedown screw. Takedown screw & trigger stop screw keep coming loose. Loctite helped.

I haven't seen anyone state whether the trigger is plastic or not. I have replaced mine with a Tandemkross trigger. I saved the original and looking at it I can't tell for sure whether the trigger is plastic or aluminum. All that I can say is that it is non-magnetic, so it isn't steel. If I were to guess, I would say some kind of metal alloy.

Thanks for all of the great info guys,Appreciate it.

The trigger is neither plastic or aluminum. Per the attached picture, the shiny spot was scratched with a file..... my guess some mim material.... also evidence of a injection mold seals.

RGVshooter, I don't know how old your victory is but S&W came out with an "improved" takedown screw not too long ago. I called customer service and they sent me one free of charge and it hasn't come loose yet. You may want to do the same thing.

I bought the Performance Center SW22 and only shot it one time so far.
Here's the thing, it shoots better than I can see.
I have read that they like 40gr full loads and that is all I used.
Maybe I will add an optic someday but not now.
Got the PC because it came setup with grips and trigger that I would have added.

I have had a Victory for some months now and love it. I also have a Buckmark that came with front FO site and coco wood grips. For me, an avg-decent shooter i find the 2 are quite similar for accuracy. Same for how they feel for weight, balance, triggers etc.

No issues with both 36 and 40 gn mini mags in the Victory either. I would say one big plus it has vs the Buckmark is the total ease of takedown for cleaning. And add in how modular it is. Definitely a nice range/target gun esp for the price.
