On this rainy day I had some of my vintage S&Ws out to compare some of their finer details. I figured it to be a good time to take a picture and share it with y'all for no other reason than its nice to share an appreciation for such fine firearms with others who "get it".

Top to bottom: Four-screw 44 Magnum S172XXX, Four-screw 44 magnum S177XXX, Model 27 S219XXX, Model 29-2 S256XXX

I believe the grips on the top two to be original to the guns and I know the grips on the bottom two are not, but are correct for the guns.

The 29-2 may be among the last to go out with cokes from the factory.

That is a fine group of 6 1/2" S&W magnums. i enjoy my three, pre 24, 27 and 29s. i see them as works of art. The 5 screw 44 mag would be considered high shooter grade and it is great to shoot. The 357 does not get used and the 44 special is too new to me, but it's going to the woods soon.
