Vintage/Retro Target Mods

VonFatman, haven't seen a trigger shoe in along time but during the 1960's-70's a popular model was the ACE Trigger Shoe. Came with a small allen wrench to install all in a small square hinge-top plastic box. Nice revolver with or without the shoe.

This pre-25 shipped in January 1956, one year after this line was started. Somebody with target shooting aspirations had an action job done, which included jewelling of the inside frame metal, and fitting a trigger stop. They also fitted these period Sanderson stocks, which I sold to a fellow forum member. Whoever did it didn't shoot it very much. Great shooter, one of my favorites:

I know this is a poor picture, but they had a wider-than-the-front sight piece of metal fitted to the rear of front sight so there's just the slightest sliver of light on each side of the front sight when it's aligned with the rear sight. Personally I agree with the famous Russian Olympic pistol coach who felt that you should see an amount of light on each side of the front sight that equals the width of the front sight. Certainly easier on old eyes, anyway. I've thought a couple of times of changing that, but it definitely isn't broke, so that's not going to happen.

Here it is wearing old, beat-up, great-feeling Herretts:

Here's a Canadian .455 converted to .44 Special with a King's front and rear. Notice the rear sight really isn't too "targety" though (but odd to see a "V" notch express sight). DA Sear has been modified to make a short action. Grips are by me (Rob, now you can see what happened to your old N targets :) )

Here's a Model 10 I found in the case at the range not too long ago. The grips aren't vintage (I bought them), but the Bomar rib and "character marks" sure are. It's a great shooter at 25yds.
