Volunteered at the museum

Today, I went and helped out at a local museum, The Wilder Museum in Irvine, PA. Part of Warren County Historical Society. Got to handle tons of guns, but this was the only Smith & Wesson. Antiques aren't my focus in guns. All I know is it's a .32 S&W. A little rough as far a finish, but wonderfully tight and smooth.

The museum has a wonderful selection of firearms from the DeFrees collection. A good time was had by all. I'll post some other photos in the lounge.

Ummh, I believe it is a .38 caliber. It appears to be a Second Model, Second Issue; following the Baby Russian in production. Mike #283

Yes, It's a .38 Single Action, Model 2. Ed.

In the upper right of the photo is what appears to be some variety of a Colt New Service revolver, maybe a Model 1909. If so, that's also very interesting.

I am sorry. I "misremembered" the caliber. You guys are, of course, right. As far as the New Service. There are eight or nine in the collection. One is US Navy marked on the bottom of the grip frame. Another is Army marked there. They are 45 Colt. There is one target model in 455 Eley, along with two or three others in that caliber. All are in pretty good shape. Two have nice holsters included. I'd love to have them all!
