Hi, new owner here and am looking for scope ideas. I've read various threads but am curious if anyone has one of these scopes mounted. If so, do you like it etc? I have vortex vipers on other rifles and love them but not sure if it's overkill on a .22....thx

If you are going to anchor your rifle to a bench, bi-pod or whatever, then magnification isn't overkill. That said, I think anything much more than a 1x red dot is blasphemous to the 15-22... but that's just me. :D

I hear you but it's range/bench shooting for me with this one...

Um, since when has something being "overkill" on a 15-22 dissuaded anyone in here from doing it? :P

Don't just acknowledge the sickness, embrace it... revel in it!

Is it overkill? I think not.And yes ,the mount costs more than the scope. This scope is the NC Star 6-24x50 on a GG&G Accucam mount.

Yes, "overkill" is a word that does not even register in the brain of the average 15-22 owner. Load it up and enjoy. Heck, DODGEDS even built a custom display rack for his rifle so he can show off his 25 rd magazines:).

haha, good stuff guys....thx

I gotta admit, I've ordered all the same (Edit: Creative Spelling of Profanity is Not Allowed - phil) that I did for my other rifles. Overkill was probably the wrong word..haha.

Right. Magnification for bench rimfire distances is pretty tough to be overkill about. I think rimfire champs use 36x scopes at 50 yards.

As far as what is practical on a 15-22... With a cheap Bushnell 3-9x I can shoot close to 1 inch groups at 100yds with my bolt action Savage. With the same scope on the 15-22 I can shoot about 2in groups at 50 yards. So what I am trying to say is that it doesn't take much scope to compliment the 15-22.... but a ton more magnification on the bench at 50-100 yards ain't gonna hurt a thing.
