I'm thinking of getting some VZs for my 4 inch 66 RB, and was looking for some opinions of those that have used both the VZ320 and the Tactical Diamond ones.

The VZ320 sound like not much texture at all, and the Diamonds sound like they are real sharp.
Please share your observations and post some pics of your revolvers that have VZ grips.
Thanks !

Here is my Colt King Cobra with the Diamond Tacticals, they work fine in 357 but anything heavier like 44s and up I would want the smooth. I have a set of Diamond Tacticals Round Butts on a 4in 69 and they work but I only shoot hot 44 Special loads through it.

I like a more aggressive grip, the texture on the 2.0 Shields feels fine to me.
I'll get the Tactical Diamonds. If too sharp it will be easier to dull the tips of the diamonds than it would to try to make the VZ320 grips more grippy.

I don't like finger grooves on grips as much as I used to, but the FG style they show seems a bit bigger than their smooth Boot grip.
The boot grips just look small in the pics.
Do the VZ grips have a palm swell in the middle ?

I have them on a 2.5 inch 66 RB and a 3 in 629 RB and I like them. No Palm swell like hogue uses and speed loaders work fine. I like the no backfill slim but still enough to hold onto profile. I bought the diamond checkered and then dulled them a bit with fine grit sandpaper, but for me they weren’t painfully sharp to begin with. There are a lot of tutorials on line about how to do this. They fit the guns well and I am happy with them.

For what it's worth, I have a pair on a 1911, and they make for about the grippiest grips around. The gun will not slide around in your hand under recoil, and are not abrasive to the hand, under .45 acp recoil, anyway.

Buy the tactical! You can use sand paper and knock the tips off if they feel too sharp. I have the smooths on two and the tactical on two. I like the tactical better and I did knock the sharp tips of mine.

I'm a VZ fan. I have several sets.

The tactical diamonds are very sharp, but, as mentioned, can be smoothed to taste with a super fine sand paper and a little time. The 320s are smooth, but oddly have enough texture to provide some grip.

Here are a couple shots of my 617. (It's 2/22/22, after all)

I have VZ grips on several S&W K, L, N revolvers. Am very happy with them, we’ll made, good texture options, and comfortable for me.

I had a pair for my J frame very uncomfortable I didn’t like them not worth it my money. I went with replacement set to go to the houge G10 boot grips for the J frame.

Not for everybody for sure. I was lucky enough to have a friend that had them so I was able to get a feel. They are smaller then factory grips.

I got sidetracked after i did this thread, and bought some checkered wood grips ($65) from an Amazon vendor.
When I got them they looked much cheaper in person, like balsawood that has a reddish stain on them. They had a chip already where the bottom of the exposed backstrap is, so I sent them back.

I ordered the VZs, what I should have done weeks ago. I chickened out at the past minute though and ordered the VZ320 instead of the sharper tactical diamonds.

For what appears to be a smooth grip, they don't want to slide around at all. You can see hundreds of tiny perforations in the G10 material, lightly hold the gun and it feels smooth, grip it hard and that minute texture does the job.
I got the Hyena Brown ones, only that one and the grey/white are in stock. (And maybe the red/black).
And yes they are speed-loader friendly.

If anyone has a set of checkered white round k frame, I’ve been looking.
VZ won’t make them anymore. Will trade or buy.

OP…… needless to say, I love ‘em.
