The sad thing about grips, especially for a revolver, is you don't know how they are going to feel/work until you shoot some live ammo in the gun they are installed on. Some can feel great at first but then not satisfactory when the trigger is pulled.
On some of them knocking the top off the checkering diamonds is a possible solution. On high grade wood, altering the grip not so good an idea.
Several years back I returned a pair of KZ linen grips to Brownell's from whence I'd bought them. After a fair amount of use those gatorback grips had worn down excessively. Doubt if G10 would exhibit the same potential for quick wear as the base material is much harder.
