Waiting Game

Just filled out round one of Maryland's paperwork on a new SW1911 E-Series. I had to wait 30 days from when I put a deposit on the gun because of MDs one-gun-a-month law (I'd just bought a Model 19). If the State Police do their thing on schedule, I can fill out round two in just 8 more days, and it'll be mine. Boy, sucks to be me, huh?

Ouch. But in all fairness if you buy more than one gun a month the very fabric of society falls apart. Of course if the very fabric of society falls apart you would have two guns to defend yourself with. So it's really a conundrum.

Plenty of stuff sucks about Flori-duh, but not gun purchase laws. With CCW you're out the door pronto. Good thing you've got others to protect yourself with.

At least it's easier to get a gun to defend yourself in Detroit. Well, except for the whole purchase permit and mandatory "safety inspection" ie registration part.

You see, this is why we get so many folks coming to Idaho!

CCW is "Shall issue", and be can be had in as little as a week and a half (as long as you've been good) . If you want to buy a gun, walk in the door, find gun, fill out form, pay for gun, walk your happy butt out door with gun, all in the same day (or hour).

I am so sorry you have to suffer this indignation from your state.
