Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think my local one is trying to shaft people...or maybe not.

I saw the 550rd. packs of Remington .22 "Golden Bullets" for $16.97+ tax...I'll buy Super-X in the silver box and packaged individually thank you for less than $30 a brick before paying that much for a "milk carton"

I have a receipt for them a month ago for $14.97!
To beat it all, I just came out of one and their price was still marked $14.97, but it is about 25 miles from the one that had them.

Did the store manager think he could make a bit more margin? I've heard that they can mark things up a bit if they feel like it.

Someone please check.
I usually get the Federals for $12.97 anyway.

Unfortunately, Wal-marts will NOT price match each other! One on one side of town may have completely different pricing than one on the other side of town!

Amazing what the internet will turn up.

Same price here in Northeast PA. Federals 13.74 and Win 12.97. Bought 1000 Win today. They were out of Federals, my favorite, and I refuse to put that Remington garbage in my gun.The Federals are a 550 pack and the others are 500. All bulk packs.

I have used a lot of the golden bullets. Never had an issue with them.
Why are they garbage?

In my area of Mich (SE), the Federals are $14.97, and the Remingtons are $16.97. at Walmart.

Remington bulk pack .22's aren't garbage,
but my firearms don't seem to prefer the Federals much better.

Maybe it's just me.
I don't know.

Maybe this flies in the face of what everyone else seems to think, but I've had more trouble with CCI .22 ammo over the course of the last 35 years than any other brand. I'm speaking of inconsistencies in velocity over the chrono, misfires etc. As fas as accuracy goes, the single most consistantly accurate .22 ammo I've used is Remington Yellow Jackets. I know that hyper velocity ammo is supposedly less accurate than regular high speed or standard velocity ammo, but that hasn't been my findings in a variety of .22 rifles. I haven't fired my current .22 handguns enough to tell yet, but I'm going to fix that tomorrow hopefully.
