Walmart getting smarter

They do have plenty of 223, 556, and 40 and 45. Might be time for me to get something in those calibers.

sounds like the one near me.they always have a ton of ammo cans of 223/556 and a ton of 45 and 40 plus random hunting rifle calibers and plenty of shotgun shells too. only once(the last time i went in) did they have any 9mm. 2 boxes of Remington umc and maybe 4 boxes of tulammo.passed on the tulammo and grabbed both of the Remington.

Keep something in mind, all you guys complaining about how Wal Mart is handling their ammo sales. The Wal Mart that is about 5 minutes from my house, DOES NOT SELL ANY TYPE OF AMMO.

It is not a city ordinance, the Dick's down the street sells ammo.

My local Walmart obviously has a person stocking the case who isn't a firearm enthusiast. They stock the case by just throwing everything in there wherever it will fit with no order or system for placement. You couldn't find the .22lr if your life depended on it. Needless to say, I don't buy my ammo there....

I bought a brick of .22LR today, right behind a guy who bought a brick. He - being the talkative type - told me that he "buys .22LR any time he can" and was proud to say that he had stockpiled over 20,000 rounds of it. He went on to tell me that he was in a Walmart and they had no limit on .22LR, so he bought all they had (12 bricks of it) much to the chagrin of the guy behind him who just wanted a single brick. He told me that he said "too bad" to the guy behind him and that was that.

I told him "You're an ***". He was speechless. Imagine that.

You were too kind in your reply. :-)) Also, too bad the gent behind the ***, didnt knock his teeth down his throat--not that I ""REALLY"" condone that behavior.

He only had 20,000 rounds stockpiled, PIKER.

I think you cook them squirrels in BEER don't you?

Then chill, throw the squirrel away and ENJOY.

My Mother's youngest brother had caught a nest of flying squirrels and put them in an old ice box with a wire front and door. He was proud of them. Someone left the door open and they escaped. He was mad and blamed everyone.

He was the southend of a mule for many reasons, youngest spoiled brat was the main one, so everyone else liked the escape.

I've seen flying squirrels while squirrel hunting. Awesome sight to see them glide to another tree.

Had a pet squirrel that would jump on my shoulder when I opened her cage and would stay on my shoulder when I would walk around the yard with no desire whatsoever to join her wild brethren in the trees around us.

Had one named Rocky that wasn't caged, but would come from long distances when I shook a can of Planters almonds loudly. You would hear him comin' through the trees and across the roof. Would come under the eave onto the rafters and from there to my shoulder or arm. If anybody else came too close,he would run around my body at the speed of light, barking. Thank God he would avoid my head and face. Sharp little claws! One day he showed up carrying a little one in his mouth. That's when I changed HER name to Rockette. :o:) Turned out she had 3 babies and they came along with her for a couple of years, but never would make physical contact with me. When she disappeared, the little ones never returned. :(
f.t.

They're interesting critters.Ive never hunted them, the reds down here are nice and fat,but the ones in the mountains are skinny little grays.I do feed them on occasion.A few years ago,I was feeding a few every day until one came in the house and demanded his breakfast :-)

Things may be getting better at Walmart's ammo counter. It appears they have improved their firewall so Ammo-Can and Brassbadger is having a problem getting ammo stock information. So those that are going after the ammo can't know what came in on the truck. Unless they like burning fuel and time in hopes of lucking up on some, they are guessing like the rest of us.

Something I saw at WM today is that they had a sign posted saying here locally, the ammo isnt for sale till 8am. Maybe they are finally getting smarter here too? or just tired of the complaints?

That was Ammo-Can but since Walmart has changed its firewalls, they haven't been able to get updated information.

I don't mean this to be critical, but I still chuckle a bit at people who are willing to wait for hours at weird times of the day to get a box of ammo when you find it online at cheaper prices, even with shipping - and typically without limits.

I don't let the need to find ammo schedule my day. A little advanced planning and 10 minutes on a computer/tablet/smartphone while walking on the treadmill or eating lunch or waiting on my next flight and I'm set for a month or more.

EDIT - I do understand that some folks are losing the ability to order and ship online, due to state govts who are raging idiots.

Swung in to Walmart to pick up some corn for my pet squirrels and walked by the ammo case. I knew there wouldn't be any 22's but I noticed a new sign. It said that ammo would be put in the ammo display starting at 8 am and at different times thereafter during the day. The 3 box limit was only on 22's now.

So it appears they are trying to stop those that are getting there at 8 to clean the shelves by staggering the stocking times.

I'm about to hijack this thread again and I apologize... But I got a squirrel (see pic). Could you private message me and let me ask you about what to feed it haha?

Local Wally has posted a sign on ammo case: "No .22LR ammunition today." It's been there for the past six weeks, every day.
