Walmart getting smarter

I love train threads. Do you have more pictures ;)

Scored some .22 ammo at Walmart today. Just happened to go to the sporting goods department around 9:00am. Had to stand in line behind Walmart employees to get the last 3 bulk boxes. This is the 3rd store where I've seen employees doing this...Most of the time I'm too late.

They just fired a WM employee here locally who was holding some choice product for at least two other WM employees. I dont know if anything happened to the others since they were legit customers there off-duty.

Haven't seen any .22 ammo at my local Walmart for better than a year.

Squirrel I chased off the bird (squirrel) feeder. I'm not the one that notched his ear but it appears he's giving me a bit of attitude anyway.

Look at the paws on that squirrel. He is hoarding .22 ammo!!!!

Charlie :D

After years of trying finally have a nice pecan tree and now I have squirrels everywhere. They even got my dogs eating pecans! 22 is too good for my squirrels!!!

Back on track...

I may get blackballed for this, but I just HAVE to vent. So guys, I am sitting here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia (the southern part even). Where I live, there are 10 Walmart stores within 15 miles of me which only 3 sell ammo. That leaves only 1 store within 10 miles of me that sells ammo. Can you imagine the demand on that one store for ammo? As well, I'm sure that there are a group "Zombie Hoarder Gougers" who have that place wired. The management at that store have the usual three box limit signs up (recently limited to only .22lr now) but they haven't gotten the clue yet, even though I've mentioned it to them directly to put the ammo out randomly. They continue to put up with the few who show up with all their buddies at 6:00am and buy everything up leaving nothing for guys like us who want a single brick just to go to the range for the day. It makes me  fume when I happen to be in the area and drop by just in case only to see the .22 shelf just as empty as it was a week/month/year ago. Never again...Buying all my ammo on line and not going to pay any more than .17/round. I hope some gouger shlub gets caught sitting on 20k rounds when/if things ease up.

If your only local place to buy ammunition is Wal-Mart, I am truly sad for you. The People's Republic of Kalifornistan sounds like a terrible place. The U.S. has become so radically different from state to state. It's like we're made up of different countries. :o

I'm GLAD there are such differences between the states, or we might all live in Kommiefornia or NY/NJ!

Well... Originally we WERE a nation of Self-Governing States (small countries), merely flying a common flag.
I'm patiently waiting for Texas to go back to being a Republic. We're close to being self-sufficient as it is and would surely continue to host U.S. Troops within our boarders... For a fee. :D

From what I hear... a few other SW States would join with us.
... But I digress... Sorry about that. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. :)

Back on topic...
I was able to score a 550 round box of Federal .22LR yesterday.
I could have gotten the 3 Box limit, but since 550 rounds will last me several range sessions, I only bought the 1 box.

Squirrels have their own massage parlor.

You either hate or love squirrels but in the end if you have a garden, you are in trouble if the squirrels have their way.

I don't mean this to be critical, but I still chuckle a bit at people who are willing to wait for hours at weird times of the day to get a box of ammo when you find it online at cheaper prices, even with shipping - and typically without limits.

Centerfire ammo? You are correct.
As for "cheaper prices" on rimfire ammo? Good luck.
There are currently zero vendors on the net selling rimfire ammunition at Walmart's typical 5-6 cents per round (depending on brand).
Some people will pay 10+ cents per round; I won't.

Cabelas & Gander Mountain are online. Use ship to store if you have one near you. Keeps the pricing right in line. A brick of CCI Blazer was actually less by ordering on Cabelas than purchasing at Walmart by a few pennies.
