It is such a pain in the *#@ to get someone to come open the Ammo cabinet. I did find out that at the auto center desk which at my Walmart is right next to sporting goods they have keys and will begrudgingly come open it (sometimes if you are lucky). They used to have a “need help” button to push but took it out. Very frustrating. If I tell my wife I am going to look at Ammo she says “see you in a half hour”.

Happened to go by sporting goods in local Walmart, know the guys that work sporting goods. Surprise, surprise as they had 1400 round buckets of Rem. 22 Golden bullets for $80. They still had boxes of the Win. 22 in the repro old yellow boxes. Have not heard good reports on either.

I think the old-timey-looking yellow/red/black boxes are the most attractive rimfire packaging I have seen in 40 years. Those colors just work good with each other on all kinds of things.

Local gun shop turned into a cash grab shop and sells that bucket for $150
They have ammunition and a ridiculous amount of it but the prices are just insulting. They have several 10,000 round barrels of 5.56 for 8 grand.

Cabela's also had these bucket of bullets last time I was in there. $130 before tax for the .22lr. I didn't buy.

They're oaky for just plinking tin cans and such, but I wouldn't shoot them in a match. Nothing wrong with cheap .22 rimfire if you're not too concerned with accuracy. You will have many flyers and some duds!!!!!

If Wal Mart has them, I would imagine Academy probably does also, and maybe cheaper. I haven't been inside an Academy for many months.

Local Academy is Way Higher on All their ammo. Academy wants $8.OO+ for 50 rnd box of 22’s. Walmarts still get CCI Standard Velocity 22’s in at $4.85/50.
Not a fan of walmart but their ammo prices are still pretty good.

Walmart really has everyone beat as far as 22s go. While everyone and I mean everyone local or big box doubled or even tripled the price, they were selling for standard prices. I grabbed a bucket 6 months ago for $60. It wasn’t until recently they went up in price, and still within reason. I’m assuming they are just adjusting for their price. Makes you wonder what everyone else was doing. Even with the price going up they still have everyone beat. And don’t get me started on CTD. You can have their in stock 22 for the low price of a dollar a round.

They’re the only standard 22s I’ve found that will run in my Walther P22.

Any other standard 22lr makes the P22 a jamomatic.
