This was my local (Tennessee) Walmart tonight. Guess they are getting ready for the riots .

Yep all the stores are that way here. I was in Academy Sports today and they were empty but just got in two boxes of Winchester .55 grain 5.56 ammo 200 rounds for $84. The green tip ammo was $95 for 200 rounds and they had about 10 boxes. I bought one box and probably should have bought a lot more.

The one where I live has almost no centerfire ammo, shotgun shelves except the cheap stuff were almost empty and the regular shotgun ammo the cheap stuff was about half full.As many of you know wal mart stopped selling all revolver and pistol ammo months ago.And to top things off the 22rf ammo is just about gone. And that was the largest seller of sporting ammo in town. The one gun shop has been ordering more ammo to take up the slack. Frank

I heard or read that certain Walmart stores near urban areas were removing and securing all ammo and firearms from their stores to thwart potential looting.
I have been told that Homeland Security has been alerted and told to be ready for immediate deployment. Supposedly certain groups are trying to disrupt the elections. Could be WM has been alerted as well.
Not surprising at all. None of our MA & RI Walmarts have carried guns for a very long time and the virtue signaling "evil ammo" sell-off left only hunting rifle calibers, shotgun shells and rimfire ammo. But several Walmarts I've visited lately have closed down ammo sales altogether with no indication why... and those aren't just urban area stores which have never sold guns or ammo.

I think Walmart just wants to be done with guns and ammo wherever it can get away with it without overly ticking off its customer base.

I was in our Walmart outside of Phoenix today and their shelves were empty. They had a few boxes of 12 gage but that's it. I asked about .22s and the salesman just laughed and said No one has .22s.

I work part time in the sporting goods department of our local wally world. Corporate sent out notices yesterday for all guns and ammo to be taken out of the cases and off the shelves and locked up in the gun vault in the back room. No real explanation but I highly suspect it is because of fear of riots and looting over the next few weeks.

As a point of interest before I left last night I was told that we were allowed to make sales of ammo or guns if a customer wanted something. Not a big deal with the guns, we don't have all that big a selection anyway. Ammo?............... Well it's mainly shotgun shells and various hunting rifle stuff like 30-30 and 30-06. Been out of 22's for weeks and no tactical or handgun stuff anymore so just the PITA of seeing if we have what they want in the stuff we still have.

As of yesterday, the two WM stores near me had no guns out, very little ammo aside from a smattering of shotshells (nearly all 12 gauge, some 16 gauge, no other sizes) and a few boxes of .17 RF and hunting rifle ammo. No .22 ammo of any type at all. Pretty much the same lack of ammo inventory at Academy, but they did have some guns on display and a fair amount of 12 gauge shotshells, no other sizes. They had other merchandise stacked on the shelves where the ammo normally is. I am very happy I already have a pretty good hoard of ammo and components.

After the class act in Philly - a looter bringing his own two wheel cart for a washer - good on Walmart for some reasonable risk management.

No disrespect to the law enforcement in the areas where social justice becomes immediately wealth redistribution, but why risk a career and people's lives if there will not be prosecutions. Chicago's Mag Mile has been repeatedly ransacked and police officers seriously injured. Rioters may get arrested, but receive minimal punishment.

Retailers will increasingly take actions like no longer selling guns and ammo if they do not have a modicum of police protection and criminal deterrence. That is our future.

What shocks me is that you found a salesman in the sporting goods department or anywhere else in the store for that matter.

Same story here in indiana. Went past the guns/ammo area and everything was gone except shotshells. Store employee told me they were required to remove all the guns and centerfire ammo from locked cabinets and moved to the back. Because of situation in PA. I bought a box of 410 gauge they had on the shelf and another guy bought 2 boxes 12 gauge. Guess we'll see what happens after Nov. 3rd :-(

My Wal-Mart has all firearms, scopes and ammo all locked away. I would not be surprised if Wal-Mart eliminates firearms, ammo and accessories after the election.

We can only hope that the "back room" has adequate theft protection. Now, all looters and Antifa members now know where to look for guns and ammo when they break in a Wal-Mart store.
