Hello guys. I have opportunity to buy a Walther P99AS new in box for $580.

Are these good pistols? It’s very interesting looking. I understand these were discontinued this year. Will the collectors value increase?

Thanks!

I like mine. It's a solid built quality gun. The S&W version not so much. My old Dept. actually use to issue the SW99 in .40, but had too many issues and replaced them with Glocks. I was already using a Glock and never went to the SW99.

That price seems reasonable. I looked at the new limit green model today at a local shop and they wanted over $700.

It is a traditional DA/SA gun. And was used by Jame Bond.

It may go up in price, but I don't think it will be much.

One of the finest handguns I have ever owned. I have several other 9x19 handguns, so I decided to transfer my 1st Gen Walther P99AS to my oldest daughter. She shoots it well. I have always liked the AS trigger. I'm hearing Walther will be dropping the P99AS from their line.

Good decision.

I've got 3: a full-sized S&W in .40, a full size Magnum Research in 9 (same gun as Walther and S&W), and a compact in .40. (The compact is one of the ones I carry.)

Never had any trouble but I ain't putting a 1,000 rounds through 'em.

The 9 replaced a Walther "Q" as the trigger is virtually identical and I like the decock option.

As far as what you paid, it's been years since I bought mine and I haven't really been following them.

Now if I could just find a .45 at a price I can afford...I'd have the complete set!
