Picked this up today.. just doing my rounds.
W. German Police issue. Date on target is 1963. All serial numbers match. Target, box and gun.
No import markings. Holster likely original.

OK...$500 OTD I had to patiently wait while another customer looked at this and 3 other guns he had out when I walked in. A Glock 19, 29-2 and a Springer Polymer gun. I waited for 30-40 minutes while he hemmed and hawed and dickered with the owner. Finally he bought 3 of the 4 guns and left this little guy for me :)

Talk about a score!

I love the Walther PP Series and I would have jumped all over that sale. I paid $500 for a S&W PPK/S in 2016, so $500 for a 60s vintage Manurhin PP is a steal.

Very nice! :D

I have one very similar made in 1983, but without all the extra goodies. You'll find that these are great shooters. ;)
The last time I took mine to the range another shooter looked at it and tried to buy it on the spot.

Nice find, and a very good price for the package. Nds = Niedersachsen

These didn't leave service until the early 1980s, so if the pistol does not have importer marks (check carefully; some of these have very discreet ones on the magazine well rim or even under the grip panels), it came over as a private import of some sort, maybe with a returning US service member.

Got a Manhurian (spelling) PP years ago. It is extremely accurate for it's ilk, and not going anywhere anytime soon. On mine the only caveat is the sharp edged trigger.

Good find and buy. I like PP and PPK line (who doesn't), but am not familiar enough with them to know what model I would like best, or if I just think one will make me James Bond. Is there a definitive book on these firearms?

Rick-

I'd start with, The Handgun, by the late Geoffrey Boothroyd. I think it's the single best handgun book, ever. Try Amazon and other Online booksellers. Usually an excellent value, chock full of info and superb photos. Big and heavy. Avoid dropping it on bare toes!

Some Walther books are mainly for collectors, and do not discuss them much as "shooting" guns.

I had a Model PP 7.65mm and it shot very well indeed at 25 yards. I had a few jams and replaced it with a Beretta M-34 .380, which never jammed and gave adequate accuracy. But the Walther was more accurate, partly because the Beretta had a very hard trigger pull.

These were not range toys; my life might depend on them. So I carried the more reliable Beretta. Finally dropped small autos altogether and carried J-frame .38's, esp. after the stainless M-60 became available.

BTW, Boothroyd felt that the M-60 was the ideal James Bond gun, but Ian Fleming died the year before it appeared, so nothing came of that idea.
