Walther PP with Blonde? Grips

I just picked up a used Walther PP in 32acp. Born in the 1973-1975 range; made in Germany.

The seller indicated these blonde grips (his reference) were a custom order. Does anyone know about that?; I've never seen this type of grip before. I really don't care if they were custom or not, but I like the way they contrast with the nice Walther bluing.

Not to cause possible disappointment, but I have only seen these on soft-air replicas made in Germany under license from Walther, not on real Walthers. These types of "guns" are popular there because of the restrictive gun laws. They are dimensionally identical, so the grips would fit a real gun. I think the picture actually shows a blank-firing replica.

Not disappointed Absalom. Just curious and any information helps. I did do a search on google as well, and saw plastic white grips that someone said were faux ivory. These are either faded white grips (which I don't think they are) or that off-white blonde as the seller said. Who knows? I may eventually look at some nice wood grips but for now I'll enjoy these.....

I did just pop those grips off to see what it might say underneath.....It does have "PP" labeled in there so I think they are authentic for the PP 32acp.

The white 'plastic' grips were available for both the PPk and the PP,,pre and post war.
They were usually supplied on the engraved or full plated guns.
But were also available especially post war as an accessory.

I got around to shooting this little gun this weekend. Just used 71gr fmj range loads. Was surprised at how accurate it is! Very decent groups at 10yds. I guess that fixed barrel really helps out.

As 2152HG states above, the white grips were an accessory for PPK, PPK/s and PP pistols. I have a stainless PPK/s from the early 1990s and a few years after purchasing it one of the black grips broke. I went to a gun shop to replace them and he had a few black ones, and a whole box of the white ones. I bought the black and had zero interest in the white ones. Guess I wasn't alone in my thinking since he had so many white ones!

I don't see where you get that "blonde" term. Walther has made white grips for their engraved guns and as extras for generations.

To put it in human terms, VS model Candice Swanepoel is blonde. Barbara Bush has white hair. See the difference?

I suppose that if you were referring to light wooden grips, you could have blonde wood. But these white plastic grips are just not blonde at all. Do you drink blonde milk?

Yea, Texas Star I like your analogy. I too call them white grips; as noted, the the seller used the term "Blonde". If they were wood grips I would consider calling them blonde. When I first got married 35 years ago, we inherited some of my wife's grandmother's furniture. It had been purchased in the 50s and some maybe in the early 60s. Anyway it was light stained and painted wood and the term they used back then was "blonde" finished furniture.....way out of style now I believe.
