Hi guys, I have "trust issues" therefore not inclined to fill out & mail the S&W warranty card. What would happen if in 3 years the extractor breaks on my 15-22 and I need S&W to fix it free.
Can they burn me even IF Im the original owner?

Never filled out my warranty card. Been sent to S&W twice for repairs

Never sent mine in either.

My at the time 3yoa 15-22 developed a firing pin problem. Sent in, fixed and returned without issues. They never asked for anything from me other then my email address to send the pre-paid shipping label to.

I don't think anyone fills those out. I mostly buy used guns, many of which don't even have the original box let alone the paperwork and I've sent back a few guns

You cannot be denied warranty work on any product if you don't send in the card. Federal law says all you need is the original receipt for proof of purchase date.

The warranty card is a marketing tool, nothing else.

You have "trust issues"? About what, your name being in S&W's database?
OK, you're not going to like this, but it's the truth:

It's 2015.
You are an American adult, and you filled out a 4473.
You're in databases for the ATF, FBI, NSA, CIA, DHS.

This is not tin-foil hat paranoia, it's the current reality. There is nothing you can do about it. Accept this and move on, or you're going to give yourself an ulcer worrying about it.

The sky is blue, water is wet, and this is America now. Whether we like it or not isn't going to change anything. :)

That being said, the other posters are correct, filling out the warranty card is not a requirement for warranty service from S&W.

I have sent guns back to S&W that I'm certain I never submitted a warranty card (or receipt) and they always fixed them. Never a cost either.

S&W asked me for a copy of my receipt, as has Sig and Springfield Armory. Ruger did not ask any questions.

In the "requested" cases, the guns had been in the distributor channels over a year before being sold as new.

Be sure new purchase receipts have the serial number, if not, ask for a copy of the 4473.
