Well, after picking up a second 469 I made the financial mistake of stopping at another gun store on the way home. I am sure you can guess what happened. I found two more Smith semi autos that had been reduced to rescue me prices. I got the 439 for $298 OTD and the 4046TSW for $268 OTD. Does anyone know if it is possible to find the light rail for the TSW? It's a former Brinks Armored Car Company gun and at some point, the tactical rail got removed.

I have a slew of 40-series models and the 4046 has an amazing trigger.

I agree. I haven't taken it to the range yet, and that trip is a minimum of three months away as I just had hand surgery yesterday. But dry firing this "DAO" pistol in the shop prior to purchase convinced me that Smith and Wesson was on to something and we, in law enforcement, should have given it more serious consideration. It is the most revolver like trigger pull on an every round basis that I have encountered. That along with the lack of a safety would have been the easiest transition from revolver for the average police officer that a department could have wanted and afforded from a training and liability aspect.

A nice group of pistol rescues at great prices. I agree with you on the S&W DAO triggers which are very close to the models 15 and 19 I carried on-duty for over 33 years. Today, I favor the 3953 and 4053 for my CCW, Enjoy your new finds.

Great guns, limited production, probably not going to be super collectible unless NiB. I'll second the trigger, it's pretty good.
I paid $275 for mine a few months ago and like most of them it's pretty beat up.
Does yours have the frame/slide matching assembly numbers? Supposedly these were machined to match and marked to keep them together.

Yup. And that's exactly how S&W designed it. A perfect DA trigger all the time.

I thought I responded to this yesterday but I dont see that response so I will repeat with some additional info.

As pointed out above, the rail was factory install only, however I have seen 2 loose in past year but one was sold with its pistol but as I recall it was in a SW bag with part number, so they were apparently sold separately - possibly as a replacement / repair part. And of course you would need to find the rivets.

There were at least 4 variations based on pistol geometry - you would want the one for 4006/5906 etc.

5906/4006 TSW Rail P/N 267100000 (fits 4003TSW, 4006TSW, 4043TSW, 4046TSW, 5903TSW, 5906TSW, 5943TSW, 5946TSW)
Rivets P/N 267510000

Other rails not to be confused with 5906/4006 TSW that would not fit your pistol
3913/3953 TSW Rail P/N 267210000
4013/4513 TSW Rail P/N 267220000
4566 TSW Rail P/N 267110000

And as I pointed out in my other post, the SW rail slot geometry predated the standardized rail geometry so current accessories may or may not fit TSW rails properly.
