Not to be out of line here but just use Flitz for the whole job. I've been using it for years and my guns still look almost like new. It polishes and also protects and there's no need to use another product. It even works wonderful on blued finishes. All these car waxes and other stuff are unnecessary unless you just like doing extra work.

I've been using Flitz for a few years now and it's the best stuff I've used on stainless revolvers. If I get a few finger prints on my ss revolvers I spray some glass cleaner on the revolver and dry off with a paper towel. Easy and quick....
